Past few days i had a craving to have soups and whats interesting is i wanted to do it by myself instead of having it outside ;) Whenever we talk of soups, tomato soup comes on top of the list.
So over the weekend i tried my hands on tomato soup which is of course very simple, delicious and quick to make.
Kids basically love tomato soup alot and in my house my nephews relish this alot and for the people who are on diet can also add this healthy soup into their menu list :) I still remember how my friends and myself used to have tomato soup for 5 Rupees during winters for the cold in my 12th grade in the great hot spot cool joint near jayanagar(Bangalore) :)
Ingredients :
2 Tomatoes : Cut into big cubes
1 Onion : Chopped into big cubes
1 small Carrot : Cut into cubes
Ginger and garlic : About 1/2 of ginger and 6 to 7 garlic pods
Water
Black pepper powder
Salt
Method :
1) Take the above ingredients(tomato, onion, carrot, ginger&garlic) into a bowl, add some water and pressure cook it up to 3 whistles.
2) Add the boiled vegetables into mixer grinder make it a fine paste.
3) Now filter the above paste into a bowl so that we get a puree.
4) On a low flame, add some water to boil the soup for the consistency
5) Add pepper powder and salt and garnish with coriander.
Tangy tomato soup is ready. You can relish this during this monsoon time :)
Note:
1)I have not added bread chunks, cream milk to it coz since this is on diet menu i have added oats into it.
2)People who wish to add bread chunks heat oil in a pan and fry bread cubes until golden brown, drain it and add the bread cubes after soup is ready.Do not add it while cooking coz this will make soup thick.

Happy birthday bapu :)
Here's wishing bapu a very happy birthday :) Mohandas karamchand Gandhi, better known as BAPU was born on 2nd October,1869.
Gandhiji, a forgotten man, here is a small tribute to bapu on the occasion of his 141 birth anniversary.
Gandhiji, a forgotten man, here is a small tribute to bapu on the occasion of his 141 birth anniversary.
Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it. Mahatma Gandhi |
Gandhji was given the title Mahatma(great soul) which indeed he was, a man who played a vital role in getting independencefor our country(INDIA) from british empire. He proved to the world that freedom can be achieved through the path of non-violence - a true symbol of peace and truth! There is a quote which he says "There is no god higher than the truth" I was really moved by reading this thought i felt there was so much truth in this. Hats off to our Bapu :)
WHEN GANDHI was born British rule had been established in India. When Gandhi died it was India, a free nation that mourned his loss. He won the great battle and he was the admiration of the world. His image is one of the most recognizable in history the thin, bald, looking man wearing round glasses and a simple white wrap. Gandhi lived a life of simplicity and his example has inspired protesters and campaigners for human rights.
Today while i was reading paper about Gandhi i read an article in one corner of the page wherein a traveler who came from Europe to India about 35yrs ago was asked 'What do you wish to see in India?’ His reply was: 'The Himalayas, The Taj Mahal and Mahatma Gandhi' We can clearly understand that It was neither wealth nor power that made Gandhiji so famous. He became famous for certain good quality that he possessed. He looked upon all with love, and worked all through life to put an end to hatred and to spread love. From ancient times such a man of love has been called a 'Mahatma 'in India.
Though Gandhi lived, suffered and died in India for Indians, it is not in relation to India's destiny alone that his life has significance. Future generations will not only remember him as a patriot, politician and nation-builder but much more.

Yummy mutton chopsuey :)
Last week we had a feast in my aunts house as she had called my family for lunch to her house and we relished having different kinds of non vegetarian food and among all dishes i really loved one dish which was really yummy made out of red meat(mutton) and she said she named this dish as mutton chopsuey :)
Yes i know the above pic looks appealing and mouth watering and yes it tastes also yummy :) I asked my aunt how she prepared it and i tried my hands on this last Sunday, it was Delicious couldn't wait to show you guys :) Why i loved this dish was coz this is not made out of coconut as i always or almost seen people using coconut as one of the main ingredient to prepare non veg. My mom uses coconut and so since i learnt from her even i know dishes made out of it.
My aunt she told me each and every ingredient she used and yes she said that we need to be care full enough while buying red meat as they might mix unwanted meat in it. She said the actual taste comes from the meat so while buying mutton we need to ask the butcher for chopsuey. So its basically ribs of the mutton which they cut and give. Less of flesh and more of bones. Majority of the non veggie lovers like to eat bones than flesh. Sorry for going to deep into explaining meat, flesh an all but this is one of the main ingredient for this particular dish and yes next comes the below ingredients.
Ingredients :
1Kg Mutton chopsuey cleaned.
Onions - 2 medium sized, sliced.
Tomatoes - 2 medium sized, chopped
coriander leaves - 1/4th cup, chopped
Pudina leaves - 1/4th cup, chopped
Methi leaves - 1/4th cup, chopped
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Daniya powder - 3 tablespoon
Green chillies - 3 to 4 whole
Cashwenuts - 5 to 6
Cinnamon sticks - 3inches
Cardamom - 2 to 3
Cloves - 3
Fennel seeds - 2 teaspoons
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Garlic pods - 3 to 4nos.
Freshly grinded pepper powder - 3 tablespoons
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
Oil - 4 to 5 tablespoons
Curry leaves
Water
Salt to taste
Method :
1)First we need to make a paste of few ingredients as this is the masala for the dish so we need to take green chillies, cashewnuts, garlic pods, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves , fennel seeds and a make a fine paste.
2) Now in a pressure cooker take the mutton pieces, add 1 tablespoon of oil, add the grinded paste, gingergarlic paste, daniya powder, turmeric, salt and add 1 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles as mutton takes time to cook.
3)Now take a pan add oil and let it heat, add cumin seeds, onions and curry leaves and cook it till it turns brown.
4)Add chopped tomatoes and saute it.
5)Now add methi leaves and saute it nicely for 5 to 7mins.
6)Now add chopped coriander and pudina leaves together and fry it.
7)Once done add the cooked mutton from the pressure cooker and allow it to boil for 5mins so that everything gets mixed and then add freshly grinded pepper powder to it.
8)Mix it well and close the lid and allow it to boil for another 15mins.
9) Mutton chopsuey is ready to serve.
You can relish the dish with roti's/hot puri's and of course hot rice.
DO try it and let me know how it was :)
Njoy your treat.
Note:
> We need to add little bit of water while pressure cooking red meat as meat oozes out some water while cooking.
> We add methi leaves first and saute it coz it has bit of bitterness in it so we need to allow it to fry first so that the bitterness doesn't spread to coriander and pudina leaves.
> After pressure cooking if you still feel mutton as to be cooked more you can add some more water and allow it to boil for some more time.
> Salt was already added while we pressure cook meat if u feel its not sufficient you can add it later.
> Hope you liked it do share your comments :) Njoy

Varamahalakshmi Puja celebrations
Wishing all my friends a very Happy Varamahalakshmi (Goddess of auspiciousness/wealth) :)
Festivals and rituals, the Hindu way have their own significance in one's spiritual evolution. I am so excited about today’s festival coz this is one main festival for all married Women’s, specially celebrated in south India :) Here I would like to tell the significance of this festival as well as to tell/share few pics as to how I celebrated this festival today with my relatives and show you guys how nicely each and everyone decorate Lord lakshmi.
Varamahalakshmi, The term Vara means “Blessing” Hence this day is to be believed that Lord lakshmi grants her blessing to the worshippers. This festival falls on Friday in the month of Ashada , also called as Adi, which corresponds to the English months of July-August. This festival is performed by married women before the full moon day. We pray for the eight forces/energies which are recognized as Sri(Wealth), Bhu(Earth), Sarasvathi(learning), Preethi(love), Kirti(Fame), Santi (Peace), Tushti (Pleasure) and Pushti(Strength). Each one of these forces is called a lakshmi and all the eight forces are called as Ashta lakshmi and there are more to know about lord lakshmi but whats important is i wait for this festival to go visit everyone's house to see the god :)
We woke up in the wee hours and started putting rangoli in front of the house, tied saree to the god, decorated with flowers, fruits, sweet and did puja :) After the puja I visited all aunts house took the pics in everybody’s house to show you guys how we south Indians celebrate one of the important as well as my favorite festival.
Here are few pics:
Hope you Njoyed and once again wishing everyone happy varamahalakshmi :)

Tomorrow will be better than today.....
Life is the sum of experiences that we encounter as we go through it. Day to day struggles and triumphs are experienced by all of the world's creatures. In this post i would like to tell/write about life, Our LIFE... Just by telling that incase we had a bad day today which didn't go through our expectations,, Tomorrow will be better than today :)
i wish i could end all the battles being fought inside,
i wish i do not have to wait for long
i wish, i hope and i believe
(maybe) tomorrow will be better than today...
Njoy :)
A life lived in love will never be dull :)
As human beings, when we encounter a challenge, we have freedom to choose how to react. Every decision that we make leads us down another road. We will never come to exactly the same crossroads. Every decision that we make has significance. Patience is all one needs, with patience intact things take shape at its own pace.
Recently when i visited one of my cousin's house, in his room he a had posted a nice inspiring/true quote on the wall which goes like this "Life is so confusing- What we want we don't get, what we get we are not satisfied, what we expect never happens and what we hate generally repeats" I really appreciated him after reading this and i was thinking such small boy though he is in 9th standard has given a very good thought.
At times i feel that we learn lot from our younger ones... All i wanted to say is We have one life, let us enjoy it to the max... Sometimes we struggle with a tasteless coffee till the last sip and we find sugar lying at the bottom... THATS LIFE...!! Enough sweetened but not stirred well...
Lastly,
i wish i could end all the battles being fought inside,
i wish i do not have to wait for long
i wish, i hope and i believe
(maybe) tomorrow will be better than today...
Njoy :)

Invisible Acts
Given a chance who would miss an opportunity for "being invisible" and acquire all things one desires :) Everyone would love to, atleast once in their lifetime and i think i would probably go mad with this thought.
Here are my wishes which is on the "to-do" list when i go invisible to the visible eyes/world :)
One of the worst and the most irritating thing i would love to do is, if a person wants to go in elevator to the 8th floor i would love to press numbers from 1 - 7 ;) i had gone through this in my office and know how irritating it is....

I would love to go on world tour without any ticket price and most important thing to sit in pilot's place just to have a better view :) and of course to travel in cruises as i love water alot :)
Doing hell lot of shopping jump out of the mall without paying for it ;)
I would love to go and give a tight punch to all the people whom i hate :) I do not have grudges on anybody but yes i hate people who try to show off alot with their all time big attitudes and people who keep observing as to what you do 24/7.
And finally i would like to do something good after all these bad invisible acts,
i would love to steal toys from toy shop and give it to all young kids as i would love to see smile on each and every child's face :)
Note:
*This is one funny wishes which i have and i dont intend to hurt anyone by this.
Hope you enjoyed my silly invisible acts.

Dexter my love :)
Dexter is an American animated series, a cartoon show where most, almost everyone's favourite cartoon character.
Being a dexter fan how could i not write about this cute boy in my blog :) Dexter's laboratory, is about a genius boy,who has an enormous secret laboratory, filled with an endless collection of his inventions, which is entered primarily through a bookshelf in his bedroom.
It was in 1996, the first season began and i was in 4th std, loved this cartoon coz dexter being so young is so talented by having a secret laboratory and dexter's older sister DeeDee always irritating him :) I used to relate this cartoon to my life where i used to say that i was DeeDee and Dexter was my younger brother ;) always irritating my cuttie brother :)
Dexter is normally in conflict with his older sister, DeeDee, who has talent for gaining access to Dexter's lab despite his best efforts to keep her out.
Dexter cartoon was being played 4 times a day. My school van used to come at 8 in the morning so i used to watch the 7.30 show, get ready by watching it
and then used to leave at 8. In half an hour show they used to play 3 cartoon plays which was simply amazing.

My Super hero :)
As much as mothers, fathers are also a great source of strength to children. And most importantly for daughters, fathers are the first men they would fall in love with :) Yes its so true.. My daddy is my super hero, strongest and most adorable person on the earth who has always guided me and given me such a beautifull life :)
"He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me
watch him do it"
~Clarence Budington Kelland
At first, as i was thinking about writing a tribute to dad i was thinking how can few words justify for all these years of love, affection and strength we got from dad and then thought the real tribute to dad is my(our) life being happy all the time without any hurdles. Dad on this day i owe a big thanks(though this is not enough) to you for all the care that you took for our needs and interests in our lives.
Thank you dad for teaching me the most boring subject(to me) history... (dad was very good in history, as he is too much into politics). I still remember all the scoldings i used to get for this subject :) I still remember you when you took me surprisingly and showed me a beach when i was young,as i loved playing in water alot :) i still remember you used to get chocolates for me without
mom knowing about it, thanks dad for kindness, thanks dad for listening, for suggestions and yes for defends as well :) I always think my dad has strength of a mountain,he is a protector, provider,a super hero that he could do anything. When i was not in town for few months dad used to call me and tell "come back, its so boring without you" It feels so great to listen to these words, the long lasting love and affection :)
One of the best times to say "thank you dad" and "sorry dad" would be now, on this day :) Dad, you're someone to look up to no matter how tall I've grown.Dad, your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever.
I feel glad and proud to be able to call this wonderful man my dad :)"Happy Father’s day daddy"
I am glad to be your daughter. Today and everyday I pray to God, for you to have a healthy and peaceful life.
"Lets all celebrate our blessed lives with the ones who are responsible for it, our fathers.
Last but not the least, i cherish to say "I love you Dad"

When Cupid struck....
Note: This post is my entry for blogadda which has come up with "My first crush" with PringOO
Memories of first crush are so full of feelings, emotions. We feel we have found our true love forever and ever :) Here goes the first time when cupid struck me :)
I was in my 9th standard, he was then in 2nd year engineering(brilliant student, especially in math’s) and that’s when I asked him to teach me math’s (I was very bad in math’s) I was almost getting less marks in math’s so i finally asked him to teach me so that I can improve.
And so he agreed to teach me, he said he will finish his college everyday and try to come home and teach me for an hour every day. So next day when he came he asked me for my math’s text book and he was looking at it(maybe he was thinking where to start from) and then he started teaching me Geometry. As and as he started I was looking into his eyes(not concentrating anything), my heart started to pond wildly, I lost myself, I was nodding my head like I was understanding whatever he used to say coz I was really scared of him then… He being such studious and intelligent guy and if I say I don’t know anything then I might feel ashamed so I was nodding my head for everything. He caught me once that I was not following what he was saying. He asked “Do you know what square, rectangle, parallelogram and circle is???” Due to sacredness I was not answering him anything then he took a match box and he was showing me how a square, rectangle, parallelogram and circle looks like and etc etc. At first I was wondering and scolding him inside myself telling “why the hell is he teaching me how those diagrams looks like???” Like I never knew those…. And then on the other hand I was like so so sweet of him he is teaching me from the dot :) I loved the way he used to explain to me. But I was not speaking anything just listening.
And then lectures went on and on for few days. Fondness, liking(not love) towards him was growing bit by bit ;) Then his exams started so he couldn’t teach me for 1 month and then lectures stopped over there and I started going to tuitions. I had no idea why I fell for him…. Life went on and I was in my 2nd PU(that’s 12th class) and he was working by then. He called me one fine day and proposed to me :) One of the wonderful moment off my life :) And today after 5 years of courtship, completing my graduation I am married to him :) In our courtship he revealed to me telling it was during the time when he tutored me that even he liked me.

World Environment's Day
Let us all get to know how environment is important to us, for our better living, for our Planet, for our future by changing our attitudes towards environmental issues. Today and everyday reminds everyone on this planet to get involed in environmental friendly activities. From school children, companies and governments all come together to pledge for buliding greener planet, "Our PLANET"
Let us GO Green and let us all start from our home by saving energy, water, reuse and recycle anything possible, grow plants and many more things. Today when i was reading paper, in one corner of the paper i read that the paper i'm reading is a recycled paper :) I felt happy to know about it.
In my terrace we have many plants which we are growing and feels so good to see it blosoom with flowers :) My hubby when he was young along with his dad planted a small plant in front of our house, today it has grown to be a big tree and its good to see flowers blooming out of it.

Captured Moments
Note: This post is my entry for blogadda which has come up with "Travel Photo Contest" with PringOO and here i am showing you my 5 best Travel shots:
Travelling and taking pics is one of my favourite thing which i like to do and over the past one and half year i have travelled lot of places. Let me show you one of the best pics or rather i can say these are the pics which i loved and captured :)
*Mysore Palace :
Mysore, the captial city of Wodeyars and one of my favourite city :) we had been to this place last year for my hubby's birthday and this palace is one of the most magnificent building to see with these eletric lights lit up and yes all know about this palace. I took this pic from my cell in panoramic effect.
We never knew the timings of when the palace would be lit up and we asked a localite out there and he informed us that the duration is for one hour and its from 7PM to 8PM and when we saw our watches it was already 7.40PM we had to rush to see the palace. Mysore traffic is not as worse as bangalore so we made it to that place by 7.55PM. 5mins left and i captured this magnificent palace as many as possible.
* Long Road :
This was captured when i was travelling from Los angeles to Las vegas. Usually i never sleep in journeys how much ever tired i am for two reasons, one i would like to give company for person who is driving and the other coz i do not want to miss the scenery like this which come across suddenly in journey :) My hubby and myself we were travelling in bus,in the mid afternoon. Bus was climbing a small hill, i was eager to know what would come after this hill for which i hubby replied "of course a plain highway" but we saw long road, we both were stunned. Maybe i can say this was the first time i saw the longest road in my life and without wasting any time i captured this moment :)
*Mt Rushmore :
Situated in South Dakota,USA. We cousins and myself, 5 of us drove 400miles from colorado to see this "United States Presidential Memorial" A granite sculpture. It was in the morning at 5 when we left. It was very sunny throughout the journey but when we were about to reach our destination it started snowing heavily :) we were not able to get down from our car, it was -4 degree celicus even during spring time in this part of the country and yes it was really tuf for us to take pics in that weather. But we really had fun time in snow played alot and took amazing pictures.
*Tsomogo Lake,Sikkim (East india):
East india being one of the best place in incredible india, i was really lucky enough to cover few places in east :) I had been to Gangtok last year and on the way to Nathula Pass we get Tsomogo Lake. I was really shocked to see this lake on 12000 ft above and between mountains and whats more incredible is this lake is almost above clouds. SO in between two mountains and above the clouds is this oval shaped Lake. Stunning view :)
* Small Hut :
This was captured in my village chittor, Andra Pradesh :) Why and when i took this pic was, we had lunch in my aunts house and after lunch we were relaxing in their house terrace and i was looking all round the place, mountains, greenery and this small hut captured my eyes which was just next to my aunts house :) I loved this house alot coz we being in a big city(bangalore) and staying in such big houses and having everything with us still we would like to have peacefull stay in such houses and i always wanted to build a small hut :) atleast to relax over the weekend ;)

USA Visit – Memorable trip of my life :)
I just returned back to India after 3months of US trip or rather I can say an official trip for my hubby and a vacation for me ;) Here in this post I would like to show all the places I visited over the past 3 months and like share my experiences :) So bear with the long post and njoy my experience, my first visit to USA, a different world.
We started our journey on Feb 7th Sunday to Las Vegas, the Gambling world :) Honestly speaking I never knew much about this place and I didn’t even have time to explore about this place before coming here but many people were telling my hubby in a surprised note “going to vegas on official trip” coz people usually go for vacation or to “Gamble”
Click here to know more about Las vegas.
I was lucky to stay in vegas for 7 whole weeks :) My hubby's work was in Casino some software engineer stuff while he was busy in fixing the issues he used to take me along with him and leave me in casino gave me some money and tell me to explore everything possible and left. So I used to roam around shop, hog. Once hubby finished his work we used to get back. I can say this was one of the best place I liked maybe coz I was able to stay here long. Most of my friends used to say “no one would get a chance to stay in Vegas for so long”
Next, Feb end we visited Indianapolis. It was freezing cold, close to 1-2 degrees and snow all over. I was really excited :) Played in snow took few pics. It was not the first time I saw snow but it was first time that I saw snowfall :) It was white all over. My hubby had work in this place for only 3 days as we had to come back again to Indianapolis later.
Then March 1st week we went to New York City :) The most populated city in United states. It was cold in this place as well. Over the weekend we covered all the possible places which we had to see. We saw WTC construction then took a boat ride to see the liberty statue, then we left to the Wall street, home for New York stock exchange, then to Brooklyn bridge walked the whole of bridge then we head to Madam Tussauds :) took few pics with famous personalities and then to Times Square :) Night view of times square with huge ads displayed on walls of buildings was amazing. Then we had dinner in Indian restaurant and by the time we reached back room it was 1am. Done with new York next day we planned to head to Washington DC but due to heavy snow fall we dropped our plan :( so I missed seeing it. All in all we saw major portion is what we felt and we started our journey back to Las Vegas again and stayed there for whole of March.
The whole of march I was in vegas covering all casinos and yes we visited in and around vegas. We had been to Grand canyon the Natural wonder of the world :) Click here to know my experience about grand canyon .
During march end we visited Los Angeles, The entertainment capital of the world :) We went for 3days, first day we visited santa monica beach, saw pacific ocean, the largest ocean in world. Next day we visited Disneyland :) played lot of games took pics with disney characters, saw movies. It was amazing :) and Sunday we visited Hollywood, Universal studios :) Played lot of games here as well saw how Hollywood works, stunts, music, action everything. There ends my LA trip.
Then April first week my hubby left to Canada and I could not accompany him as I didn’t have Canadian visa :( so I head to my cousin’s place Dallas, Texas. I had an amazing time with my cousin roamed, shopped, hogged and then I again left to Indianapolis. This time it is spring in Indianapolis and we stayed for a week here. Last time when I came here it was snow all over and now its green and beautiful all over. My hubby is great fan of Formula 1 and luckily there was an F1 track in Indianapolis so we visited and my hubby njoyed seeing the model of cars, track, pits. He was explaining me everything.
My hubby finished all his work in US and in the end took a week vacation and we visited our cousin place in Colorado Springs and we went to Dallas Texas, this time with my hubby. Let me first tell about Colorado springs. Mountains, mountains, mountains everywhere. Yes Colorado springs is famous for mountains that’s why i guess even the time zone is knows as Mountain time ;) Saw world’s highest suspension bridge, Mt Rushmore, Pikes Peak, Garden of the gods and on the last day we head to Denver Downtown :) 4 days in Colorado springs with snowfall, rain, sunny weather was really awsum. Had a wonderfull time.
Next we came to dallas and spent 5 days here, we saw aquarium, Rodeo show, did some shopping for our family and finally we head back to INDIA :)
All in all this was one of my memorable trip :) hope you njoyed.

Back to Incredible India :)
I can smell the Dosa's, Idli's, Pani puri, Bhele Puri, sweets, biryani, kebab and above all mom's food :) The sheer feeling of landing on crowded streets of my hometown, Bangalore, was amazing. I got the humming sound of mosquitoes at night, i feel the zing of meeting friends and family. Trust me guys it is really tuf to be away from all these.
India Rocks :)
We spent about 3months(though its less) in US, where the people are polite and quiet. The streets are clean and orderly. I have had one of the best times in my life holidaying :) Now we are back in India. I was in US for short time and that was the first time i was out of home without anybody(except my hubby) in my own different world.
Without wasting any time though i was in jetlag, i went to visit all my relatives and above all my great friends :)
Though i'm still in jet lag worst part which makes me sleep in odd times to avoid it or rather to come out of it i am keeping myself busy with meeting people, chatting, hogging and of course blogging(sharing my feelings) :)
Mom and mum in law making our favourite dishes. My dad getting me food from my favourite restaurants :) And i'm ending up giving all gifts to family and my friends :) Just for 3 months i'm getting so much of things now i can imagine how few people who return to india after years feel....
India seriously rocks :)
Our culture our world is unique and the best :)
Note:
Please wait for my next post, wherein i would like to share the places i visited over the last three months.
